BENJAMIN H. TOWNSEND
AGE
Eighteen
OCCUPATION
Patient
RELATIONSHIP TYPE
Single
NOTES; Benny Boy is a whimsical artistic soul who just so happens to be confined to Monroeville Hospital. It's possibly because he might accidentally turn your bones to dust or into a kick-ass statue. This narcoleptic bone-mancer, it's a word now, suffers from an inability to keep his big mouth shut and recklessness that can only come from a combination of youth, superpowers, and being so terrified on a nightly basis that he can't muster any fear in the daylight hours. He needs friends, lovers, enemies, mentors, rivals, and whatever else you wanna throw at him.
FRIENDS
Benji is a sarcastic asshole, a lovable sarcastic asshole <3 While not exactly an adrenaline junkie he's got a healthy curiosity and a general disrespect for the rules that lands him in some pretty heated situations. He could certainly use some accomplices friends. Prerequisites include; being okay with hanging out with a moderately unstable super, being able to run quickly, and dealing with him texting you at four in the morning to come to pick him up.
On the real though, you'll likely have to reign him in and eventually force him to confront the fact that his combination of hallucinations, sleep deprivation, and bone-melting powers are a problem and he should seek some sort of council, less he kills himself or anyone else in a hallucination induced murderfest.
With his mouth, Benjamin is very likely to have an assortment of enemies. It doesn't help that he calls most people that he resides with "budding serial killers" and such or become extremely confrontational when cornered. Chances are he'll engage in a few verbal sparring matches and make some rude sculptures in their likeness. It will take a lot for the boy to even consider violence, even if he talks a big game. Still, even if he doesn't want to start a brawl he'll throw down if he has to.
It's likely that this line will blur for those who work at Monroeville as Benji can be downright friendly and charismatic one moment and a total arse the next.
-@tears | "You're kind of an asshat, man. I guess it's your job though."
LOVERS
Benjamin is no stranger to love~ Alright, that's a lie...kinda. He's no strange but he's certainly no expert. His nightly episodes make it hard to maintain any serious relationships and being stuck in a draconian hospital. Still, like any teenager, Benny fantasizes about striking up a relationship. It doesn't help that when he tried to start something while at Monroeville he ended up impaling the girl and not in the innuendo way. She got better but it's soured Ben's desire to find love, at least for the time being.
GIDEON "MONDAY" ALEXANDRE BEAUCHENE
AGE
Twenty-seven
OCCUPATION
Teacher
RELATIONSHIP TYPE
Single
NOTES; Former heir to the Beauchene fortune and shipping empire Monday was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Unfortunately, a desire to follow his own path saw him being left destitute with nothing to his name but his skills as a chef and his eternal optimism. Monday's only true goal in life is to stand on his own two feet and out of the shadow of his family name. Also, he turns into a one-ton apex predator that has gone unchanged since the time of the dinosaurs so... there's that.
FRIENDS
Monday's genial nature makes it easy for him to win people over. Never before has there been such a gentle crocodile. Monday likes going out and enjoying the nightlife of NOLA and when he's not out partying it up he can be found lounging around enjoying aging sitcoms. He is particularly fond of the show Scrubs.
Monday does his best to pass on his love of cooking to the students that attend his class but he can come off as being a bit inconsistent. On one hand, he's very enthusiastic and helpful. On the other, he tends to hold the children to a level that they aren't comfortable with. He regularly expresses that his students can come to him with any of their problems whether it be academic or personal.
-Guillaume H. Charbonneau | *Sigh* "You're too luck for your own good." -Evangeline Charbonneau | "Handle your brother I can't deal with him right now." -@richard | "... I still can't believe they stuck me with you."
ENEMIES
The idea of Monday making any enemies is laughable. Anyone who meets the man finds out that he might be the most generous man in all of Louisiana. Still, some believe his charity is forced and that he's playing some angle. Others find it reprehensible that he's left behind his family fortune to pursue a failing career as a chef.
Most of Monday's enemies were earned while still attending Primrose. During his tenure, he became a star member of the Prim football team and was elevated from awkward nobody to one of the most popular boy's in school. HIs shy demeanor caused him to come off as being conceited and distant.
@richard | "I have an ominous feeling that I'm stuck with you for the rest of my life."
LOVERS
Monday's list of past encounters is storied and strange. While he's never actively pursued the one-night stand lifestyle he somehow accidentally ended up living it. In his heart, he would like nothing more than to find a nice girl and settle down. At this point in his life, he feels like this is a far off dream. He isn't comfortable where he's at in his career and finances and can't see any way of making a real relationship work. So he's mostly content to play his role as Guillaume H. Charbonneau 's wingman and take whatever life throws at him.
NOTES; Rowdy, foul-mouthed, and prone to outbursts of violence Carver is not the most stable individual to reside in NOLA. Haunted by memories of a troubled youth, drug addiction, and time spent incarcerated in Monroeville have left their marks upon the man. He's wronged many and done evils that he believes can never be forgiven. To that end, he's dedicated the rest of his life to being a better person and shielding children from facing similar life events. He hasn't exactly nailed the "better person" bit yet but he's become one of Phalanx House's most prolific recruiters.
Carver has done his best to keep his past a secret from the children he's saved for fear of their judgment. To them, he is an enigmatic figure. The only concrete facts they possess are his status as a former Monroeville patient and his friendship with Ash.
Carver's powers make him hard.
FRIENDS
Carver is a figure that is larger than life. He's loud, obnoxious, and always ready for a good time. A ritual binge drinker Carver is often found cradling a bottle and strewn over a bar.
-Astor Oliver Perona | "Ass-star and I go way back! Known the guy since I was just a tyke. Definitely one of my oldest and dearest mates -" -Declan Noah Kahale | "The biggest guy I've ever known. Also the nicest. The fact that he hasn't banned me from his bar for life is already enough reson for me to be eternally grateful." -Charlotte Rae Devereaux | "Charlie-girl... I got a lot to make up for there. I left ya alone in there. I'm not gonna leave ya again."
ENEMIES
The line between friend and enemy is a fine one due to Carver's antagonistic nature. There are many who genuinely despise the man for his brash nature and more that knew him in his wilder years who would like to see him locked up. In his youth, Carver tormented any Monroeville patient that did so much as breath in his direction with the exception of one, Charlotte Devereaux. This included, but was not limited to, physical altercations, verbal abuse, and stealing medications.
-Astor Oliver Perona | "When I'm not trying to introduce his head to the pavement for being a royal ass dick. Did I mention he hit me in the face with a lunch tray when we first met? Who does that?"
LOVERS
Carver is quite fond of casual relationships. His rough charms and nomadic lifestyle have led to him collecting more than a few notches upon his bedpost. Since his release from Monroeville, he's never had any long term relationship and has little desire for one. At his core, Carver still harbors a flame for a girl he met in Monroeville. While this love has become mostly platonic he still pines for her going as far as tattooing her nickname upon his hands.
- "Dollface" | Carver's first love. Went missing from Monroeville fourteen years ago. Her current status and whereabouts are unknown.

RELATIONSHIP TYPE

NOTES; Childish and delusional Ell is the most outgoing of the Davies clan. An innate drive to be liked and make friends has caused him to be quite the chatterbox. Unfortunately, he doesn't have to good sense to keep his mouth shut and will talk anyone'sear off if given the chance. Ell adores stories of heroes and justice and has developed a strong moral compass.
Despite his innocence and child-like mannerisms, Ell is something of an autodidact and remarkably bright.
Ell's ability has turned him into a small engine of destruction powered by physical abuse. A power he intends to use to become the world's first superhero.
FRIENDS
Elliot's siblings are his entire world. To say that they were his closest friends would be the largest of understatements. They are his protectors, his mentors, his playmates, his very reason for being. He never tires of their company and the thought of being separated from them feels him with anxiety and dread. He'll fight viciously with every ounce of his prodigious strength to keep that from becoming a reality.
For those not related by blood, Elliot just wants to belong. He feels that he's not quite mature as some of his contemporaries and wants to catch up. He has a tendency to overload the conversation with useless facts and snippets as he's not entirely sure what he's supposed to converse about. For all of his awkwardness Ell is a fun loving and cheerful boy. Ell regularly declares that he can be friends with just about anyone.
Elliot's annoying habits and social awkwardness have earned him admonishers in the past. Many find his incessant conversation irritating and his forced attempts at friendship suffocating. While in numerous foster homes he was made fun of due to his quirky nature and seemingly stunted development. Ell is an easy target because of his desire to make friends and easily exploited. No matter how badly he's treated he will continue to strive to achieve a level of understanding and friendship even with those who do not deserve it.
Such as the other Davies, Ell is fiercely protective of his family. Anyone who so much as wrongs Jaxon, Piper or Ezra will face the full might of the tiny juggernaut that is their baby brother. Elliot is more protective of his sister Piper than his brothers due to the maternal and sororal feelings he harbors for her. When the Davies are on the outs, Ell's notions of honesty and fair play go right out the window.
LOVERS
"Piper says no."
Elliot has no experience when it comes to anything romantic. His entire understanding of love and commitment has been cultivated by the fictitious exploits of imaginary characters. He believes that somewhere out there in the great big world is his soul mate, his Mary Jane, his Lois Lane, a princess in a tower just for him. He is relatively oblivious to any sort of romantic advances. His attempts in the past have usually been in the form of unsigned notes, flowers awkwardly handed over, or "pretty things" that he's found.

FRIENDS
Margrave has very few "real" friends. Her cold nature and violent outburst tend to see her push away nearly everyone. Something that she's completely okay with. She has a few close friends that she interacts with solely through digital means. At any given time she's likely chatting with one of her guild members or raid partners.

Have a Mary! She's head psychiatrist at Monroeville - she likely deals with Bennyboi after each of his escapes/attempts. Maybe some sort of exasperated i don't even know?? there's something in here
Post by Benjamin Townsend on Nov 8, 2018 3:36:12 GMT
@marilyn & Benjamin Townsend This is definitely gonna be one of these frenemy things. On one hand,Ben thinks that Mary needs someone in her corner. Of all the personnel at Monroeville she's the only one whose actually helpful. Not to Ben because he doesn't need help but, y'know, hes heard things. She gets a pretty bad wrap. On the other hand, Ben is gonna cause all of the problems for Mary. All of them I say!
Also, I like the idea of Benji busting out and trying to get Mary to let him stay at her place somewhere down the line.
@jaehyun & Benjamin Townsend These guys could be bros. Whenever Benji busts out of Monroeville he'll likely need a place to crash and will inevitably find his way to Jae. Who he'll beg to hide him at Phalanx. Something that'll probably land both of them in deep shit. When he's not trying to get something out of him Benji will want to get out and tear up New Orleans.
In the unlikely circumstance Jae's true nature is discovered Ben will... probably bot give a shit. He doesn't particular understand the taboo surrounding Skinwalkers and if he has to he'll switch gears and help hide Jae. Because that's what bros do.
Benji plays with bones and Lily reanimates bags of bones - okay she can only do that kind of thing with a full skeleton and not very well BUT STILL. I think that she would appreciate his "weirdness". These two came into Monroeville around a similar time and could have formed a friendship out of being sort of outsiders in a place filled with them? Lily isn't particularly a troublemaker but that's not to say that she hasn't had her fair share of discipline for doing things that she shouldn't have been. I'm not too sure what to get these two up to, but friends, yes please??
I'll be honest, I'm not at all sure how to get these two in the same room, unless she manages to find him hiding out at Phalanx when he breaks out and they form any kind of connection there? Cora's all about writing and reading, so I feel like they could probably bond over a good horror novel, maybe? I feel like she would empathize with him wanting to get out of Monroeville, but we could see where it goes if you'd like! ♥
I like the sound of this~ Benny seems to be collecting a little hodgepodge group of creepy friends and I think Lilith could fit right in. I personally like the idea of them being acquantainces on good terms before we thread just because I shot myself in the foot and established in canon that Ben doesn't really talk to anyone regularly >___> My bad. Maybe they could have been paired up in one of the sessions where they learn to control their powers?
Even if Lily-bear isn't a troublemaker Benji would totally feel some kindship with her because of how dark and macarbe her powers are. Unfortunately, she's gonna get dragged into a lot of things that she probably won't wanna do. Ben has it in his head that all of his friends want to help him with his crazy ideas and that all of them probably want to break out of Monroeville. Lilith can probably expect Ben to try and talk her into something incredibly stupid and dangerous. Even if it's not breaking out, he'll probably want her help with a prank, breaking into the rec hall after hours to watch tv, or something stupid. On a tamer note, they can talk about books and movies and everything that is scary since they both seem to like it.
She can sit with Ben and Lucy at lunch because apparently that's a thing that happens~
Oh, Benny-boy is definitely going to get out of Monroeville one day. Until then, patients can earn a day out on the town with supervision once a week. With Ben's new friends there's a pretty good chance that he'll turn his act around, at least momentarily, and earn himself one of these days. We can totally throw them together in a coffee shop or something where they might happen to see one another reading a spooky story and have the conversation go from there. What I really think could be cool here is that both of them recognizing that they're lying about there past. Benjamin refuses to let anyone dig to far into his for fear that they'll uncover just how bad his condition truly is and it looks like Cora does so for a pretty similar reason. They're kinda like a fork diverging from the a path in that regard. They don't have to do anything as crazy as telling each other their life stories or helping each other get better but just noticing that they're both lying is kinda cool, at least in my book.
When Ben gets out he's definitely gonna be floating around Phalanx.
Creepy friends are the best friends, we all know it. I am completely down with starting as acquaintances first and moving towards friendship! I could definitely see those sessions being a good way for them to kind of get together and establish that they're both a couple of weirdos.
I don't think that Lily even fully recognizes that her powers are macabre, but she knows that they're something that people usually try to steer clear of. They think it's creepy, she thinks it's a way to provide companionship. It's weird, she weird <_< BUT ANYWAY! Lily is pretty intelligent, but she's also marginally naive and would probably help Ben if he seemed like he genuinely needed it, regardless of it being something that is against the rules of Monroeville. RIP her somewhat decent, albeit spoopy, reputation.
Yesss, Lils loves Luce and I am here for the lunchtime trio <3
I can definitely dig them running into each other and bonding over a good spooky book! Cora works at the Quarter Cafe, so that might be a good spot for the two of them to run into each other, and then of course I'm down for any of the things that happen post-his release/breakout! I do really love the idea that they kind of both know that the other is lying to them, I think it opens up a lot of plot opportunities once they start hanging out a little more ^-^
but first off obviously i love benji. second i do think he and eli would, at the very least, get along. eli is very blunt and honest and i think he would admire benji for his mouth... even if it causes trouble sometimes. eli is the kind of guy who would talk at 4 in the morning. he could handle benji and his shenanigans. he has a good sense of humor and i think eli would be pretty loyal to ben. this isn't particularly helpful and i don't have anything specific yet but i'd be super interested in seeing how the two interact. let me know if you're interested <3
Oh hello there friend. So these two are both currently locked up in Monroeville and tbh... I'm not really sure how Charlie fits in with most of the Lunch Bunch gang but I'm sure that's something all of us can figure out down the line. Anyways, I feel like Sophie would definitely see Ben as a kind of kindred spirit, since they both have mouths on them and they both seem to have a particular skill for getting in trouble. Sophie is also kind of an insomniac also, I've been kind of headcanoning that the drugs they give her make her unable to sleep most nights because she always feels like she's plugged into a battery, so nightime wandering in the asylum is definitely something that we could play with if that's something you're intrigued by!
I can see Ben and Wes getting into trouble together. They are similar, but Ben would just have to get over the fact that Wes has some human problems as well as a sick sense of humor.
Eli is definitely friend material for Ben. That whole "fly under the radar" thing is gonna be put in jeopardy but you knew what you were getting Eli into. The two of them can hang out and listen to music at 4 am. Benjamin listens exclusively to metal and its derivatives so his musical horizons need to be expanded. The no touching thing might get Ben in a bit of trouble because he tends to invade people's personal bubble even when they're perfect strangers. At some point down the line, Ben will likely feel like an ass for not knowing ASL and pester Eli to teach him. I see that Eli has a bit problem lashing out when he gets agitated. Ben, for some stupid reason, usually keeps his cool and shies away from physical aggression so maybe he can be the guy who tries to help leash Eli's volatile tendencies? That's an even trade, right? He teaches Ben that not all music is screaming and sign language and Ben occasionally talks him down. He'll finally have a decent use for his big mouth.
A decent meeting spot could be the roof since they both seem to like hanging out there. Beyond that, there's always the classes where they learn to hone their abilities. Since they both have a decent grasp of their powers it's likely they could get paired up? I'm not 100% on how this works.
PS This table is getting pretty full but Ben'll drag him over to meet his other friends.
Lunch Bunch~ Sophie can come over and keep Ben company on the nights he's not doing weird shit or having night terrors. Ben's room might be a little crowded with either people or creepy bone statues. Hopefully, Sophie doesn't mind.
He certainly wouldn't be dissuaded by her resting bitch face once he finds out she's got a mouth equal to his own. I've got a bad feeling that the two might buttheads a little bit from time to time but friends do that. Ben isn't a fan of losing and will stand his ground no matter the personal cost. Sophie can totally call him on his bullshit which is something that Ben sorely needs in his life. On the flipside, Ben can do the same for Soph. Personally, I like the idea of these two meeting in whatever passes for detention in Monroeville. Timeout? If not there are plenty of other great places.
If she tries to talk to Ben about the meaning of life be prepared for a rant about freedom, art, and hope. That sounds like nighttime talk material.
Creepy guy talking to himself? Yeah, Ben'll talk to that. He understands the struggle separating reality from fantasy due to his own waking hallucinations. His delusions don't go as far as hearing voices while waking but he can draw parallels. Ben's recent surplus of friends has encouraged him to reach out to those that are ignored and feared. This also poses a problem for the two.
A strong point of contention is that Wes likes to watch people struggle. Ben isn't about that life at all. He's much more of a mind to lift others up rather than beat them down. Monroeville is a shitty enough place and the patients need to stick together. If Ben catches wind of Wes making life hard for anyone but the staff he should be prepared to catch an earful from the bonehead. He's not violent but, if you've read anything he's in, he can talk.... a lot. Like a lot, a lot.
Oh yes, I can see these two butting heads for sure, especially since Sophie also doesn't like to lose, she just has a small tendency to let it slide if she sees the merit in the greater scheme of things. Long term tactician and all that. Honestly I also have a feeling that Sophie wouldn't mind the people or the creepy bone statues. I feel like she's kinda gotten used to that after being at Monroeville for four years, and that there's precious little that can surprise her anymore XD That being said, yeah, she'll absolutely call him on his shit and she honestly expects her friends to do the same for her, she feels like that's part of what friendship is, calling each other on their shit instead of just endlessly letting it slide because that helps approximately nobody.
The closest thing I can think of to detention/timeout is like... temporary stays in solitary confinement. Which I mean, it's still doable maybe? I'm sure even in a place like Monroeville talking to each other through the vents is a thing (that Sophie's ability can help with, since she could make both of them able to hear the other better), and then they meet face to face after talking for x amount of time and they're like "hey I recognize your voice ohhhhh it's you!"?
And please give her that rant, she wants to hear all of it, because fuck small talk.
So Nerys would've likely been the final hiring authority with Monday here. While she sees he is struggling with just his whole life it seems, Nerys knows how to give credit where it's due. She acknowledges his hard work, and lets him know.
Nerys isn't one for handouts though, so while she might know what his end goal is (his own restaurant), she won't just throw money at him and watch him fail again. She'd be like a hard-pressed supporter? If they're friends she'd be more vocal about it, if not she'll cheer silently from afar. With a scowl. I feel like she's got major RBF idk. Let me know what you think, i'm not even sure any of this made sense./
